Young Khaled tried to focus on his prayer to Allah. He wanted to be prepared for the prayers he would pray on the Hajj, three very special days.

But little Khaled was also very excited to watch cartoons. His favorite was the one about Isa al-Masih (Jesus), shown on a Christian satellite television station. He skipped down the hall, calling to his mother who was waiting for the show that she, too, anticipated. She first met Isa in a dream during last year’s Hajj, and longed to know Him more.

The Hajj is an annual pilgrimage for Muslims. It is every Muslim’s dream to take the three-day journey to Mecca in Saudi Arabia at least once in their lifetime.  Muslims believe Hajj to be promising because the rituals they perform during Hajj allow them to seek forgiveness for their sins. Yet, even if Muslims perform Hajj in Mecca, they are not guaranteed forgiveness of sins or eternal life.

Performing the Hajj is one of the five pillars of the Islamic religion. Several million Muslims from all over the world gather in Mecca during these days. They perform the rituals and follow the steps of Muhammad, their founder.

Saudi Arabia is a country completely closed to Christianity. Not a single church is open to Saudi citizens, and talking about Jesus as Savior is illegal. Yet Jesus Christ pursues Saudis who seek Him.

Christian intercessors focus their prayers during the Hajj on Muslims coming to Christ.

This year, the three days of Hajj occur on September 21-23. For Muslims, the dates of Hajj are ordered on the Islamic calendar. Because the calendar is based on the moon’s cycle, the Hajj begins nine days earlier each consecutive year.

This year, the #Saudi Global Day Of Prayer on September 23 coincides with Hajj. Christian Believers are encouraged to pray for Saudis to know Jesus as Savior and Lord on this day. The prayers of intercessors have, undeniably, made an impact in Saudis knowing Christ.

Pray with us that Muslims will open their hearts during this Hajj to God’s true path to forgiveness, repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. Ask God to send Muslims participating in the Hajj dreams and visions. Pray He continues to use Christian satellite television to open their hearts and minds to Christ.

  • Muslims truly seeking God’s forgiveness will encounter Jesus Christ in dreams, visions, and other revelations (The Bible, Psalm 98:2).

  • Christian Believers in Saudi Arabia are emboldened to share the Gospel, compassionate about their faith and protected by God as they share (The Bible, Acts 26:17-18).

  • Christians globally will awaken to the call for prayer for our Muslim neighbors during these strategic events (The Bible, 2 Thessalonians 3:1.)
